Get to know your target audience

I don’t know about you, but I tend to mix up my mannerisms, my tonality and my body language depending on who I’m speaking to in order to get more out of the communication.

In fact, I’m pretty sure that if I was to communicate the same way with EVERYONE then I’d probably get a good slap in the face!

In the same way, before writing any advert, you’ve got to know your audience.

Take some time to get to know who you’re speaking to; find out what drives them, their core beliefs and their big goals.

That way, you can tap into these and serve them up in your ad.

Get specific with you advert

When you’re writing your ads, imagine speaking to one specific person and make it feel real.

Many business owners think doing this will alienate their audience, but actually, the opposite happens.

It’s hard to believe but, people don’t usually like seeing advertisements. In fact, they actively avoid them.

Note down their values, their believes and their drives and tap into them.

Otherwise, you’ll get slapped in the face, OR WORSE, your message will be ignored and your ad budget will be wasted.

Although you’re creating a message to one specific person, there’s a fair chance that there will be plenty of other people like them out there and it’ll resonate with them too!
